This book started out well. It gives a high level outline of the features of the Zend framework, some definitions and explanations on terms that are essential to get moving like MVC, front controllers etc. Some areas are a little over explained and repetitive. It's problems start about chapter 3. There are a number of errors in code examples, and inconsistency between examples, as they build their example application. eg. The bootstrap class changes between ch3 and 4, but this gets no mention. Lucky the code can be downloaded. Not earth shattering problems, but I purchased the book to learn more about the Zend framework, not to figure out what the authors are doing. A good start, but overall disappointing. I can only guess the book release must have been rushed or the technical reviewers asleep.
